Advancing Supervisory Skills: Improving Emotional Intelligence for Workplace Conflict Resolution

3.0 CREDIT HOURS

  • Fulfills Maryland Social Work Supervisor 3 Hour Renewal Requirement

Course Overview:

Effective supervision requires more than just technical expertise—it demands strong emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics. This three-hour refresher training is designed for both new and experienced supervisors, offering practical strategies to strengthen emotional intelligence and improve workplace conflict resolution skills.

Participants will explore the critical role of supervisors as gatekeepers of the profession, reviewing key ethical principles and supervisory best practices. Through interactive discussions and role-play exercises, attendees will gain hands-on experience in self-reflection, self-regulation, and tactical approaches for managing difficult conversations. By the end of this training, participants will have developed a personalized action plan to enhance at least one domain of emotional intelligence, leading to improved communication, reduced workplace tension, and more effective conflict resolution.

This training also meets 3.0 hours of supervision-specific continuing education requirements for professionals seeking to fulfill renewal requirements in states that mandate ongoing training for approved supervisors.
